Pokemon: Detective Pikachu continues to impress fans with its trailers, thanks to the impressive-looking Pokemon and decent jokes. While some of the Pokemon look like nightmare fuel (hi Lickitung), we can all agree that they mostly look amazing and we can't wait to see this movie when it comes out this May. These "realistic" Pokemon have also been great for the limited edition trading cards that will be released in conjunction with the movie.
Thanks to Pokemon.com, we have even better looks at some of the Pokemon that appeared in the most recent trailer, including Mewtwo. Other fan-favorites like Bulbasaur and Machamp can also be seen but fans everywhere freaked out when the 150th Pokemon burst through a parade balloon and looked ready for a fight.
Interestingly enough, we have yet another card that features Detective Pikachu, so it looks like the title star will have multiple cards. Honestly, all of these Pokemon continue to astound and we can't wait to see all of these Pokemon cards when they are officially released.
The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.
Detective Pikachu comes out on May 10.
