The highly-anticipated season 2 of Netflix's hit live-action series adaptation of One Piece has finally wrapped filming after months of production.
Following the massive success of the first season, the streamer immediately renewed the live-action series for another season that will continue the Straw Hats' adventure.
Netflix Confirms One Piece Season 2 Has Wrapped Filming
Netflix confirmed in their official social media accounts that One Piece season 2 has finished production recently.
The hit show's second season started production last year in South Africa where they were filming all 8 episodes of the forthcoming installment.
Creator Eiichiro Oda visited the set during the filming of the second season and expressed his approval of the new cast members who joined.
"My own casting selections were made from Japan over photos and videos, but seeing them all in person convinced me: They were absolutely the perfect choice!" he said in a letter.
Oda also teased, "The vibe on set was just the best, too! Trust me, this is going to surpass season 1!"
A sneak photo (which you can see above) was also released to give fans an early glimpse at our favorite character's next adventure.
What to Expect in One Piece Season 2
In his letter to fans, Oda gave hints on what fans should expect in One Piece season 2.
He teased that the upcoming season "will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island."
Co-showrunner Matt Owens confirmed in a past interview that Dr. Kureha (played by Katey Sagal) will have a major part in the upcoming season.
"When the Season 2 writers’ room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season," he said.
Netflix has also announced more new cast members that have joined season 2 which include Rigo Sanchez, Yonda Thomas, James Hiroyuki Liao, Sophia Anne Caruso, Mark Penwill, and Anton David Jeftha.
So far, there are no details yet regarding the release date of One Piece season 2 so fans should wait for more news and updates in the coming months.
