Following its acclaimed first season that dominated the Emmys, the hit Netflix series Beef is set to return with a second season that will focus on a brand new cast and a new story.

Fans have been wondering what they have in store for its sophomore run, including which stars will be cast to play the characters in the new season's inciting incident, and when it is expected to be released.

What is the Plot of Beef Season 2?

Season 2 of Beef will focus on a brand new storyline that won't have any direct connection at all to the first season.

According to the official logline from Netflix, the upcoming season will focus on a young couple who witness an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.

The upcoming season will consist of eight 30-minute episodes. Lee Sung Jin will return as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. Jake Schreier is also expected to continue as an executive producer.

The stars of the first season, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, will return as executive producers. They are not expected to make an on-screen appearance and reprise their Emmy-winning roles.

Who is Starring in Beef Season 2?

Beef season 2 is slated to have a star-studded cast as they follow the footsteps of Yeun, Wong, Young Mazino, Joseph Lee, and Maria Bello in the first season.

Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Charles Melton (Riverdale), and Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) will star and executive-produce in the upcoming season. The full details regarding their roles are still being kept under wraps.

Also part of the cast are Youn Yuh-jung (Minari), Song Kang-ho (Parasite), William Fichtner (Mom), Seoyeon Jang (Butterfly), Mikaela Hoover (Superman), and rapper BM in his acting debut.

When is Beef Season 2 Coming Out?

Netflix finally confirmed that all eight episodes of the second season of Beef will arrive on the streamer on April 16, three years after the first season was released.

No trailer has been released yet, so fans will have to wait before they get an official early look at what to expect in the second season. For now, stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
