The Narenare -Cheer for You!- anime’s release date is official! It’s set to premiere this July, meaning seasonal anime viewers will get to add a unique new coming-of-age series to their watch list.
Studio P.A. Works’ last TV anime was Skip and Loafer, which ended nearly a year ago. For Summer 2024 though, the studio is making up for the gap with two shows, one of which is this new original anime.
Narenare -Cheer for You!- Release Date Revealed
While P.A. Works has many notable adaptations under its belt like Ya Boy Kongming!, the studio is also known for its stable of original titles. For instance, there’s last year’s Buddy Daddies and 2022’s Akiba Maid War.
Now, the studio is back with another original anime titled Narenare -Cheer for you!-. It may not be part of its popular Working series, but it is nonetheless a promising series that’s all about school cheerleaders.
This new anime was announced back in November 2023, though at the time, not a lot of details about its story have been revealed.
Finally, a new trailer for the show was released, revealing its July 7 release date in Japan. Along with the premiere date, the trailer also previewed the show’s opening and ending themes which are performed by the main cast.
The trailer also showcases the anime’s vibrant look along with its Gunma Prefecture setting.
Where to Watch and Stream Narenare -Cheer for You!-
In Japan, the anime will be streamed on July 7 at 11:45 PM via d Anime Store and DMM TV. It will then air on TV via AT-X on July 10.
Meanwhile, fans in the US will be able to watch the series on Crunchyroll, with the platform confirming that new episodes will be streamed as it airs in Japan.
As such, it’s likely that the show will also premiere in the US on July 7, though fans will need to wait for an official announcement.
P.A. Works’ New Original Anime Highlights a Lesser-Known Prefecture
As its title implies, Narenare will follow a group of high school girls as they become cheerleaders at their school. Thus, this series can technically be classified as a sports anime.
What makes it interesting is that, instead of being set in Tokyo, the show is set in a city located in Gunma Prefecture.
As Gunma isn’t the most well-known tourist spot in Japan, it won’t be a surprise to see the anime tie up with the prefecture for future promotions.
That’s not to say that it’s a series made purely for tourism. After all, there are other notable anime set in the prefecture like Initial D and Nichijou.
