Mushoku Tensei Web Novel vs Light Novel: Which Version Is Better?
The Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation web novel by Rifujin na Magonote began in November 2012 and ended in April 2015 with volume 24.
Meanwhile, the light novel series has 26 volumes and ran between January 2014 to November 2022. As it is longer and has more volumes, the light novel series is a more detailed version of the story.
For instance, the light novel series' seventh volume features an original story that’s not in the web novel. Despite the additional story parts, the two versions have the same core story.
That means the web novel and light novel essentially have the same ending, meaning fans who choose to read one won’t miss out on much.
If you ask fans, many will recommend reading the light novel, as it has more details and extra story parts.
Of course, the web novel is still considered by many to be a good option for those who prefer something a bit shorter.

Mushoku Tensei Ending Explained: How Did Rudeus Greyrat’s Story End?
Even though Mushoku Tensei is very much an isekai anime, its take on the genre is a bit different, as it’s far from the typical power fantasy.
In the penultimate volume, Rudeus succeeds in the decisive battle, but there are still lots of story threads that remain unresolved, including Hitogami’s fate.
Instead of wrapping this up, the last volume instead shows Rudeus’ future. The final volume reveals that Rudeus Greyrat dies at age 74, though he has lived a full life.
The last volume also reveals that Rudeus marries Sylphiette, Roxy, and Eris. Rudeus has two children with each of his wives, giving him six in total.

Will Mushoku Tensei Get a Sequel?
While Mushoku Tensei wrapped up Rudeus’ story, there are still lots of mysteries surrounding the world and its future. Thus, fans are expecting a sequel series.
Series creator Rifujin na Magonote indicated before that he is keen on working on a new story in the series, though it’ll take a while before it gets released. Plus, it won’t be a sequel in a strict sense.
Fans will need to wait possibly until the end of the anime adaptation based on the creator’s update about it back in 2022.
