Ms. Rachel, from the YouTube show Ms Rachel - Toddler Learning Videos, reacted to media coverage of Olivia Munn’s decision to keep her children from watching her videos.
She urged the outlets to focus more on her advocacy, which involves supporting children affected by the war in Gaza.
What Did Ms. Rachel Say About Media Outlets Talking About Olivia Munn’s Opinions on Kids’ Shows?
Beloved YouTube personality Rachel Accurso, better known as Ms. Rachel, has been outspoken about her fight for children in Gaza. But apparently, she wasn’t loud enough for some outlets.
On her Instagram page, the 42-year-old recently posted screenshots from two publications covering Olivia Munn’s choice to keep her kids from watching Songs for Littles.
“I know kids love [Ms. Rachel], but the thing is, if I can't watch it, I'm not going to spend the rest of my life going crazy,” Munn told People in an article published on June 8. “These kid shows drive me crazy.”
She also revealed that she isn’t a fan of most children’s programs, such as Blue’s Clues on Nickelodeon, though she did say she likes PBS’ Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
In response, Ms. Rachel called out the outlets for featuring Munn’s opinions alongside her name, but failing to mention what she’s currently advocating.
“WHO CARES?!” she wrote in her post. “I’d rather you cover me advocating for kids in Gaza who are literally starving, largest cohort of child amputees in modern history, thousands & thousands killed - no medical care, no education, no homes… do better!!!”
While she didn’t hold back in delivering a strong message to the media, she ended her post with a disclaimer: she respects the actress’ preferences when it comes to kids’ shows.
“Not against [Olivia Munn] at all and don’t care that she doesn’t want to watch the show - all my love to her and her family - disappointed in the outlets.”
The post, shared with her 3.2 million Instagram followers, has since received over 322,000 likes, along with an outpouring of support from those who stand by Ms. Rachel in her campaign.
How Does Ms. Rachel’s Advocacy for Children in Gaza Affect Her Career?
Ms. Rachel’s commitment to providing aid to Palestinian children in Gaza, and calling on others to offer support as well, began in 2024.
At the time, the kids’ entertainer posted about using contributions from her Cameo account to donate to the Children’s Emergency Fund, which helps children affected by war. Not only in Gaza, but also in Ukraine, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
While she received tremendous support from fans for her humanitarian efforts, she hasn’t been immune to criticism.
Various groups have pushed back against her views, and she even posted a video last year addressing people who were attempting to cancel her and accusing her of being selective in her concern for children.
However, she reassured both herself and her followers that she would not stop helping children in need.
Recently, she has become even more vocal about her cause on social media. She posted a viral video featuring a double amputee named Rahaf, injured in an airstrike in Gaza, and has also called out leaders and public figures who choose to "stay silent."
"What people don’t understand is that my career & reputation will never matter to me as much as standing up for kids." Ms. Rachel wrote in response to the backlash on Thread.
She also emphasized that she stands against "all forms of hate and violence," including "antisemitism, anti-Palestinian hate, anti-Arab hate, [and] anti-Muslim hate."
Despite differences in geography and background, fans continue to praise Ms. Rachel as an ally to children, and many have expressed how deeply moved they are by her commitment to shielding young lives from the tragedy of war.
