Venom might have been beaten down by negative reviews by critics, however, the film has proven itself to be a box office success by earning more than $380 million at the global box office during its second week in cinemas.
Now that the Symbiote Standalone's been raking in the money for Sony, the studio has begun working on Morbius the Vampire, another Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters movie, this time featuring Jared Leto as the titular blood-sucker. Though there hasn't been that much information about the movie, it looks like a new report reveals the villain of the upcoming SUMC installment.
According to a new report by That Hashtag Show, Leto's character in Morbius is going to battle against the baddie Loxias Crown in the upcoming comic book movie and while there isn't a specific comic book character that goes by the same name, the publication links Loxias to a comic book character called Crown.
For those who aren't familiar with the character, Crown is also a vampire-like being who's battled both Spiderman and the X-Men mutant Marrow. With his sharp claws, fans and super strength and speed, Crown has been known to capture many citizens of New York, feeding on their blood.
However, while Crown's origin is largely unknown in the comics, Morbius will make some major alterations to the character's story. Not only will the movie make Crown suffer from the same blood disease as Leto's Morbius, but he'll also be transformed by the vampire's serum that aims to cure them. The only difference is how the two handle their new powers. While Crown turns into a blood-thirsty baddie, Morbius tries his best to ward off his bloodlust and attempts to stop his former friend.
Morbius The Living Vampire doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
