Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date: When Will the Second Season of Moon Knight Come Out?
There is still no set release date for Moon Knight Season 2.
The series has yet to get its green light, which means there are no updates on when the series will be coming out.
The first season of Moon Knight premiered on March 30, 2022, and if the second season follows the same trend, it may premiere sometime in early 2024 at the earliest.
Recently, this month, Moon Knight director and executive producer Mohamed Diab spoke to Arabic Marvel (an interview translated to English by The Cosmic Circus) about the potentiality of a second season coming to fruition:
Considering that Marvel's big boss Kevin Feige even previously confirmed they always end up planning the future phases of the MCU ahead of their release, here's what Diab had to say about their plans for a possible Season 2:
To reiterate, the MCU's current plans for the next two years revolve around Loki Season 2, Echo, Daredevil: Born Again, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and Ironheart, with Wonder Man following closely right after.
When did Moon Knight Start Shooting for Season 2?
Moon Knight Season 2 is not yet approved, so we do not know when the series will start shooting. We have been receiving mixed messages about the status of the season.
In an interview Isaac made with the RadioTimes, he talked about his arrangements with Marvel:
A TikTok post from user @hayaattiaaa in August showed Oscar Isaac and Mohamed Diab giving fans hope:
The question on everyone’s mind: is there a Season 2?” She asked.
“Why else would we be in Cairo?’ was Isaacs's enthusiastic response.
By October, in a different interview with Collider, Isaac readdressed his statements about Moon Knight Season 2.
Back in 2022, head writer Jeremy Slater told The Playlist that he "honestly has no idea" if a Season 2 is even possible.
He added, "I haven't had any conversations with Marvel. I think a lot of those decisions are ultimately going to be in the hands of Kevin Feige because he's the guy with the master plan."

Oscar Isaac as Everyone
Oscar Isaac may reprise the leading roles (yes, roles) in the series. He may still be playing American Mercenary Marc Specter and British nerd Steven Grant, along with playing their superhero alter egos, the caped Moon Knight and the suited Mr. Knight.

Aside from Isaac, the cast of the second season may potentially include May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly. We may also still hear F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu.
We may also meet more Egyptian gods in the second season, with Antonia Salib potentially still voicing the cutest hippopotamus goddess, Tawaret.
Moon Knight Season 2 Crew: Who are the Creatives Behind the Scenes of Moon Knight Season 2?
Moon Knight Season 2 may still be based on the comic created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin.
Jeremy Slater created the show for television, however, on October 18, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater left the project, which could lead to the doom of ever seeing Moon Knight Season 2 come to fruition.
We may see the directors return for Season 2, including Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead.
Moon Knight Season 2 Plot: What Will be the Plot of the Second Season of Moon Knight?
The post-credits scene on the last episode of the first season showed us what happened to Arthur Harrow and Ammit.
When Marc Specter chose to let Ammit and Arthur live, it felt like a good setup for Season 2, with Ammit returning seeking vengeance. But then, we see Arthur picked up from the mental institution he was housed in by a mysterious figure.
After being unceremoniously thrown into a limousine, he is greeted by Khonshu, who introduces the mysterious figure as Jake Lockley - Marc Specter’s second alter and the third person to inhabit the body.
Jake decides to finish off the job, killing Arthur before driving away.
Moon Knight seemed like Marvel’s shot at producing an experimental series, successfully interweaving Egyptian mythology into an unpredictable storyline that somehow still makes sense by the end. Following this line of thought, it can be quite difficult to speculate which direction Season 2 will take.
Moon Knight is also a very flexible superhero who can easily adapt to different stories and styles, depending on which writer will be taking the lead on each project. Since they are also a part of an even wider Marvel universe, anything is possible with Moon Knight.
We can imagine them being a part of the Avengers or even being a villain fighting against other Marvel superheroes, depending on which personality is holding the helm of the body.
Jake Lockley has the most potential to be the villain, especially since he seems to be the most violent personality out of the three.
Lockley’s existence may be a crucial plot point in season 2, which may revolve around Marc and Steven fighting to find out who is stealing time in their body from time to time.
In a statement released with Comicbook.com, director Mohamed Diab shared that he was still unsure of Moon Knight’s future and his involvement in the project.
Layla is another potential focus of the plot. When Diab spoke with Deadline, he shared what we can expect from the goddess’ Tawaret’s Avatar.
Moon Knight Season 2 Trailer: Is There a Trailer for Moon Knight Season 2?
There is still no trailer for Moon Knight Season 2, but it may be released around January 2024, if it follows the same trend as the first season.
