Migratory Birds and Snail Gets Greenlit for Anime Adaptation
Anime and manga fans are winning this year with the announcement of the Migratory Birds and Snail anime adaptation and the manga series’ return after its four-year hiatus.
There’s no promotional video yet for the upcoming slice-of-life anime, but a celebratory and/or announcement visual for the anime has been released on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the manga series.
In addition, the author, Makoto Takatsu, also drew an illustration to celebrate the Migratory Birds and Snail manga’s return and anime announcement, as shown below:
It is expected that more information will be revealed in the coming days, including the main cast and staff, as well as the production studio of the anime series.

Migratory Birds and Snail is a slice-of-life series that revolves around a machine parts worker named Unpei Mochizuki and a picture book writer named Tsugumi Nagisa.
They don’t know each other and have different lives, but their paths crossed when Unpei ran away from home after causing trouble at his job. Somewhere along the way, Unpei meets Tsugumi, who’s traveling with her pet dog.
This fated encounter pushes Unpei to go on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with Tsugumi as they roam around Japan, traveling and sleeping in a van!
