Michonne's Alias as Dana Bethune Explained
While Rick Grimes and Michonne's long-awaited reunion had fans at the edge of their seats, Rick's condition breaks the perfect fantasy between them.
"Don't show them who you are," Rick told Michonne once the CRM's choppers started coming for them.
Michonne doesn't hesitate to follow what Rick tells her, especially considering how overjoyed she is to have found him. Despite the questionable motive behind returning to the CRM, Michonne complied.
So, when Michonne gets interrogated about where she came from, she does as she is told by telling the CRM a complete lie about her background, from her choice of weapon to her family, behind her alias Dana Bethune.
This includes hiding the fact that Michonne is an "A", by saying she is classified as a "B." If the CRM were to uncover that she's an "A", it is possible she could compromise her position and become a test experiment or a threat to the military.

Why Did Michonne Change Her Name in the CRM?
Rick and Michonne do not feel safe being in the CRM, which explains why he had to instruct her to go by a different name.
Considering that the military has every record right under their noses, they could easily pull up Michonne and learn about her history which could endanger both of their lives.
Keep in mind that Rick and Michonne have been married since The Walking Dead season 6.
She knows how many times Rick tried escaping the cruelty of working under CRM, so becoming a part of their community would put them at risk, especially since these two have tried together time and time again.
However, even though they have been apart for quite some time, until the spinoff series, Michonne fully trusts that her husband knows what he's doing.
"[Rick]'s been trying to come home all this time," Michonne told herself inside her head, "They've stopped him, again and again. But Shoto, they can't stop us."
