Michelle Obama is a very hands-on mom, and she’s also close to her two daughters, Malia and Sasha. When the COVID-19 pandemic plagued the United States, the ex-POTUS got to spend more time with her children because they stayed at home with their parents.
During her interview on Today, Michelle Obama said that she and her husband, Barack Obama cherished the extra time that they got to spend with their kids.
“I feel for them because Malia is a senior, this was her last year in college, and Sasha has essentially missed her second year in college. But for Barack and I, we have cherished this time. It's even fun just peeking in and hearing them in their online classrooms,” she said.
Michelle Obama Has A Complicated Relationship With Her Daughters
But Globe, in its Nov. 15 issue, claimed that Michelle’s relationship with Malia and Sasha is not that perfect after all. In fact, the helicopter mom’s daughters allegedly think that she’s too nosy.
Malia is still dating her longtime boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, who she met at Harvard. An unnamed source claimed that Michelle likes Farquharson, but she can’t help but ask him and his relatives intrusive questions.
“Rory is a great catch and he comes from a very wealthy family, but Michelle’s annoying Rory’s relatives in the U.K. too with her intrusive questions and power plays. No one likes to be grilled like that but Michelle is oblivious,” the unnamed source said.

Michelle Obama Forces Malia Obama, Rory Farquharson To Settle Down
Michelle also can’t help but meddle when it comes to Malia and Farquharson’s long-term plans. After all, she’s not a fan of the couple living together without talking about their wedding.
“The former first lady is especially pushy about when they’re setting a date if they’re so serious and has made it clear living together indefinitely is not what the Obamas do,” the unnamed source claimed.
Malia reportedly gets mad because her mom embarrasses her. However, she can’t do anything about it because everyone in the Obama household knows who’s the boss.
Sasha Obama Not Yet Allowed To Date?
When Michelle is not targeting Malia and her boyfriend, she focuses her attention on her younger daughter, Sasha, who is studying at the University of Michigan.
Sasha is, allegedly, struggling to find a young man to date because her mom performs background checks on everyone that she introduces to her.

“She doesn’t even want to bring guys home to meet her parents because Michelle’s all over them giving them the third degree,” the source added.
For now, the ex-POTUS doesn’t have any plans to change her ways. And she’s thrilled that her daughters are scared of her because they can’t stop her from meddling with their lives.
“Michelle says that you have to always have at least one parent who the kids think is a little bit crazy and might actually kill you,” the unnamed source concluded.
However, it’s best to take the claims made by the publication with a grain of salt because they have not been proven. What’s known is that Barack and Michelle are supportive of Malia’s relationship.

Barack Obama, Michelle Obama Are Open To Their Daughters
Before Malia went to Harvard, Michelle gave her an important piece of advice and it didn’t have to do with getting into a relationship. The former first lady teasingly asked her daughter to not wind up on Page Six.
Since Barack and Michelle set a good example for what a relationship should be like, they do not have anything to worry about when it comes to Malia and Sasha.
On the Michelle Obama podcast, Michelle also said that finding a lifetime partner is so much more than swiping right on a dating app.
“If you’re on a team, you’ve got to be able to do everything – especially in basketball, it’s like, you would never pick somebody that says, ‘I only dribble. I don’t shoot, I don’t defend, I just dribble,” she said.
This sports analogy shows that Michelle Obama is open-minded when it comes to love and relationships.
