Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are noticeably missing at Oprah Winfrey's star-studded birthday bash. Royal experts weighed in on their absence.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Reportedly Seen As Drama
Kinsey Schofield, royal commentator and host for the To Di For Daily podcast spoke with Fox News Digital about the issue. According to her, she wasn't surprised that the Sussexes were not at the party.
She suspected that publicists in Hollywood were already wary of the royal couple.
"I live in Los Angeles and have spent years in PR," she told the outlet. "Word on the street is that Harry and Meghan aren't invited anywhere because all eyes would be on them, and it would distract from the cause or event."
Spectator columnist Kara Kennedy also wrote an article about the issue. She quoted an anonymous insider who told her the same sentiment.
"The Sussexes equal drama. Everybody over here is starting to realize that they never intended on having a quiet life," the tipster said.
Also, they reportedly do not trust the couple. They couldn't risk having them around "never know[ing] where details of their private lives might end up."
Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Only Keeping Things Low
Christopher Andersen, author of The King, had a different take on the Sussexes' absence. For him, there's a good reason why the mother of two has stayed out of the spotlight.
"I have to be honest., I've interviewed Oprah several times over the years, starting when she first burst onto the national scene in the 1980s," Andersen told Fox News Digital.
He added that joining Hollywood A-listers like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Gayle King and more to honor Winfrey on her birthday is not what the Sussexes need at the moment.
Do you believe that the publicists are wary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle due to their drama? Or do you agree that Oprah and the Sussexes are just keeping things discreet?
