Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are unlikely to maintain their popularity, according to Prince Charles' former biographer, Jonathan Dimbleby. The royal expert weighed in on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship, and for him, it was such a "shame" because he knew Prince Harry back then.
Meghan Markle Allegedly Controls Husband Prince Harry
Meghan Markle is a strong woman, and she's a self-made success. The former Suits actress is a known go-getter. However, her taking the lead in her marriage with Prince Harry might not do them good.
In Dimbleby's opinion, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be able to keep their popularity as celebrities.
"I suspect that Harry is led by the nose by Meghan Markle," Dimbleby said as quoted by Daily Mail. "He’s entering a sort of vortex in which they will become less and less significant as a couple. As she gets older, as he gets older, they will matter less because the celebrity on which they trade will become less valuable."

He added, "And it’s a very great shame because when I met him he was absolutely charming – a lovely, lovely young guy. Not the brightest in the world but filled with generosity of spirit.’"
Dimbleby wasn't the only person who noticed that Markle takes the reign when it comes to her relationship with Prince Harry. An unnamed source also told People prior to their 2018 royal wedding that the actress is "is definitely the one wearing the trousers in their relationship."
"She is a strong, opinionated woman who has her own ideas about things, and that’s one of the things he loves about her," the source added.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Dropping Popularity Already Felt
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were among the most popular royals when they were still in the U.K. However, when they decided to step back, their popularity ratings consistently dropped down.
Just recently, the Duchess of Sussex's animated series Pearl was among the projects that Netflix decided to cancel as the streaming giant cut costs to grow its revenue, Deadline reported. Several netizens were happy with Netflix's decision. Some even celebrated it, saying that they would unsubscribe had the platform decided to continue with Markle's project, which only suggested that the couple are gaining more critics.
"Am less likely to cancel my Netflix subscription now @netflix has canceled that incredibly dreary-sounding Meghan Markle thing, tbh," one tweeted.

"If the show 'Pearl' had gone through on Netflix, we would have canceled our subscription. If Harry & Meghan put anything disparaging against the Monarchy or the Royal family I will cancel @netflix," one commented.
When Netflix welcomed the Sussexes onboard with a multi-million, multi-year contract, many slammed the company. Netflix announced that they were losing subscribers for the first time in more than 10 years, and some netizens blamed it on Prince Harry and Markle because they ditched Netflix when it worked with the Sussexes.
"I'm one of this... Go guys, #Unsubscribe to @netflix if also feel the BS harry and meghan did to their families. Netflix, they didn't even produce a single thing yet, can you see the effect? Karma," one tweeted while sharing the report from BBC.
