Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received all sorts of criticisms throughout the past couple of years. But according to royal expert Omid Scobie, things took a turn for the worse when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the United Kingdom to attend the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Received Shocking Threats Ahead Of Their Return For The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
In fact, Scobie also revealed that just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, he also received threats due to his associations with the couple. And as a result, he is urging British security to give the Duke and Duchess of Sussex the protection that they need.
“Sources tell me that during the Sussex family’s visit for the Platinum Jubilee (which they were given state security for as it was an official royal event), a number of credible threats were intercepted by authorities. I witness a lot myself, too. Thanks to a never-ending stream of false tabloid tales calling me the couple’s ‘close friend’ or ‘spokesman,’ I regularly receive an extension of their online threats. The messages range from extreme racism to disturbingly violent scenes involving the likes of dismemberment, car accidents, and rape. They always get forward to the police,” he wrote in his op-ed piece (via Express).

Prince Harry Can Challenge The UK Government’s Decision Not To Grant Him Security Protection
Scobie’s comments came on the heels of a security decision in favor of the Duke of Sussex. The dad of two won the right to challenge the status of the UK security arrangements that were put in place following his decision to quit his royal duties in 2020.
At the time, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures removed his automatic right to UK police security because he was no longer working as a senior royal.
But last month, Judge Jonathan Swift said that the Duke of Sussex now has permission to apply for judicial review. According to People, this means that the legal action will proceed to a full hearing at the High Court in London between Prince Harry and the UK government.
Prince Harry Didn’t Feel Safe Bringing Archie, Lilibet To The UK Without Security Protection
Prior to the queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry’s legal team said that the dad of two doesn’t feel safe bringing his kids to the United Kingdom because they don’t have protection.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex even offered to use his own money so that he could get protection for himself and his family when they were in Britain.
However, the other party insisted that Prince Harry and his family are no longer entitled to the same privileges that some senior working royals are getting because he no longer represents the queen in his engagements.
