Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue their charitable and humanitarian work even after their shocking royal to ditch the royal life for good in January 2020. At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed that their desire to be financially independent from the Firm pushed them to make such a decision.
It was also claimed that Prince Harry was forced to stay away from the other members of the royal family to protect Meghan Markle, who has become a favorite target of criticisms by the British media.
Though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been getting nods for their exemplary work, royal experts suggested that it is very “unrealistic” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize any time soon. Keep on reading to know more details.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Nobel Peace Prize Hopes Dashed
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) honored Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in February. The Sussex pair was given the President’s Awards on stage in Los Angeles in recognition of their “distinguished public service.”

NAACP President Derrick Johnson, in a statement, shared he was “thrilled” to present the said award to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. He furthered:
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who together have heeded the call to social justice and have joined the struggle for equity both in the US and around the world. Not only do they continue to lead by example, The Duke and Duchess have also decided to inspire the next generation of activists through the NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award, ensuring the support and recognition of generations of civil rights leaders to come.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, during their acceptance speech, paid tribute to the people of Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis and called for global support for the country. The Duke of Sussex said:
“Before I begin, we would like to acknowledge the people of Ukraine, who urgently need our continued support as a global community. I also echo the immense gratitude for tonight, both for this award and this community for welcoming me so warmly.”
Prince Harry added:
“I think it’s safe to say I come from a very different background to my incredible wife, yet our lives were brought together for a reason. We share a commitment to a life of service, a responsibility to confront injustice and a belief that the most overlooked are often the most important to listen to.”
After the Sussex pair received the award, avid followers of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were convinced that they are in line for a Nobel Peace Prize due to their work campaigning on humanitarian issues, which include vaccine equality.

The Daily Mail Diarist Richard Eden revealed, in a tweet, that devoted supporters of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have suggested that the royal pair should be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. One Twitter user wrote:
“If Greta doesn't get Nobel Peace Prize then it should go to Meghan Duchess of Sussex or Justin Trudeau.”
However, Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward boldly expressed her doubt over the possibility of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry receiving the award. She claimed it is too early in their displays of humanitarian work.
Ingrid Seward told Express U.K.:
“I never quite know these awards work as often there is not visible to see exactly what the recipient has done. But with the Novel Prize, it is usually very obvious so I rather doubt they would be awarded it so early in their 'good works' career.”
Royal expert Pauline MacLaran echoed the sentiment of Ingrid Seward, saying:
“Their recent NAACP award has given their brand much more credibility but I think a Nobel Peace Prize is a little unrealistic!”
For starters, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded yearly in December to recognize "outstanding contributions in peace." Each recipient, called "laureate," gets a gold medal, a diploma, and a monetary award.
Both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on Ingrid Seward and Pauline MacLaran's latest remarks about the probability of them getting the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.

After reports about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's possible attendance at the 2022 Academy Awards broke, royal expert Angela Mollard warned the brother of Prince William of potential "outrage" from royal fans back home. Speaking on the Australian program called Sunrise, she said:
“There's a lot of talk it's going to go ahead but can you really turn up and stand on the stage at the Oscars and not turn up for your grandfather's memorial.”
Angela Mollard went on to say that:
"I've got a problem with that. You do all the glory and handshaking with the celebrities but your own family.”
Program host Kylie Gillies also shared her thoughts and said:
“What's he thinking, why wouldn't be there for your grandfather's memorial. Leave Meghan at the Oscars.”
Speculations are rife that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were tapped to present an award at this year's Oscars. However, no concrete pieces of evidence can prove that these rumors are true as of this writing.
