Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to the United States soon after the Queen's funeral. However, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly made a bold request to King Charles.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Wants A One-On-One Meeting With Prince William's Father, King Charles
Royal commentator and correspondent Neil Sean talked about the "brave" request that Meghan Markle allegedly made to the new monarch. According to his anonymous source in his YouTube video, she requested a "one-to-one meeting."
"She'd now like, before they return to California, to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III," Sean said, as quoted by 7News.com.au.
"You heard correct. It's a very brave move from Meghan herself."
Sean said it was not clear what Prince Harry's wife wanted — whether she wanted to patch up past issues, cement their current standing in the firm, or a mix of both.
"It would be an opportunity to clear the air, pull the rights from wrongs and explain some of the rationale behind what they've been doing for the past two years," Sean added. "Now, you have to admire Meghan's self-belief, whatever you think."
The royal expert noted that it wasn't clear if King Charles said "yes" to Markle's request. However, the duchess reportedly likely made the request because her husband could be "hot-headed" and prone to argue with his father.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Are Leaving The UK 'Almost Immediately' After Funeral
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been in England since earlier this month. They are reportedly eager to fly back home because they already missed their children — son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1.
"Meghan and Harry are preparing to return to Montecito almost immediately after the funeral, where they'll be reunited with Archie and Lilibet after being separated for over two weeks," an unnamed source told Us Weekly, before adding that it's the "longest amount of time they've been apart from their children."

Prince Harry and Markle initially planned to only stay in the UK for less than a week. They embarked on their Europe trip on Sept. 4. The Queen passed away on Sept. 8, and they decided to extend their stay for the late monarch's funeral.
At this point, the royal couple is reportedly missing their kids "like crazy." They FaceTime with Archie and Lilibet daily, but they can't wait to "see and hold them again after a poignant few weeks."
