Meghan Markle Heartbreak: Prince William Reportedly Banned Lilibet's Christening At Windsor Castle Amid Ongoing Rift With Harry

Prince William and Kate Middleton are, reportedly, not on good terms with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. There were even reports that the Cambridge couple is one of the many reasons the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down as senior royals and live far away from the United Kingdom.

Since the infamous Megxit, numerous royal fans have been waiting for the two royal couples to reconcile. However, many reports suggest that the rift between the Cambridges and Sussexes continues and any form of appeasement is unlikely to happen very soon.

Prince William Reportedly Banned The Christening Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Daughter At Windsor Castle

Woman's Day Australia, in its upcoming October 18, 2021 issue, claimed that Prince William just made another move to show Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that he would no longer tolerate their "disrespectful" behavior. The husband of Kate Middleton, allegedly, denied the Sussex pair's request to christen their daughter, Lilibet, at Windsor Castle.

The entertainment news outlet added Harry and Meghan wanted to have Lilibet's christening at St. George's Chapel, in a similar private service held for Archie two years ago. The unnamed insider told the magazine:

NBC royal correspondent Neil Sean, as per Express UK, shared that Prince William obstructed all the plans Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have for Lilibet's special day. The source claimed the decision sparked another spat between Kate Middleton's better half and the Duke of Sussex, adding:

The unidentified informant claimed Prince William thought the idea of having Lilibet's christening at Windsor Palace was not a very good idea. It further said that the continuing tension between the two royal couples started when the husband of Kate Middleton and Meghan had a falling out months before the latter's wedding with Prince Harry.

Woman's Day Australia reported that Prince William and Meghan Markle could not agree on things. Another source told the publication that the first son Prince Charles and Princess Diana "did not take too kindly to the sheer arrogance of a newcomer trying to take a plum role from the future king" when the former Suits actress, allegedly, insisted that she should become the president of the British Academy of Film and Arts (BAFTA), a role that the Duke of Cambridge had held for more than a decade already.

Both Prince William and Meghan Markle have yet to comment on these reports claiming they are at war. So, devoted followers of the royal family should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Are Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Attending Princess Diana's Statue Party?

Meanwhile, a representative for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry told The Telegraph that the Sussex couple is not flying off to London to grace a party at Kensington Palace to honor the late Princess Diana. The spokesperson for the royal couple did not cite any specific reason behind their decision to miss the said event.

Most, if not all, royal followers are aware that Prince Harry unveiled the statue of his late mother, alongside his brother Prince William, in July. According to AP News, the two princes had put aside their differences at the time to show off the Princess of Wales' statue, which they commissioned in 2017.

The unveiling of the statue, on what would have been the 60th birthday of Princess Diana, was the first appearance of Prince William and Prince Harry together since the funeral of Prince Philip in April. As per BBC, the royal princes said in a joint statement:

Avid followers of the royal family hoped that the unveiling ceremony would fix the strained relationship of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's husbands. While attendees claimed that there was little progress in easing the rift, reports suggested that Prince William and Prince Harry have yet to sit down and fix their misunderstandings up to this writing.
