Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is one of the noteworthy side characters in the MCU. The last time the fans saw him was in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and in just two months, he’s set to have his next Marvel appearance via his centered Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Even though he’s already a veteran actor outside the MCU, others can't deny that he got more popular because of his spy stint in the superhero franchise. Despite his MCU career contributing to his fame, the actor confessed he’s more of a DC Comics fan than Marvel.
Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Jackson admitted he has loved DC Comics since time immemorial and has never read a Marvel comic in his life. “And truth be told, I don’t even read Marvel comic books… I kinda look at ’em, and when I discovered myself as Nick Fury, I just happened to see myself and [say], ‘What am I doing on this cover?’ And that was it, I put the book back…But I’ve read DC comics my whole life. I mean, we all [grew up with] Superman, Batman, Aquaman.” he said.

Is the actor considering taking a DC Role?
After confessing his undying love for DC Comics, Jackson was asked if he could ever consider taking up a DC role, given that he’s so familiar with the printed counterpart of the franchise. “Well, I mean, we’re all– actors are mercenaries. It’s kinda what we do, we act who we act for but… But I don’t know that I’m going to read a DC script that’s gonna make me go, ‘Yeah, this is dope!’ “I’m a comic book fan, so I’ve been reading comic books forever,” he explained.
The Secret Invasion trailer offers us a look at a gloomy Fury, and it's just one of the states that the character will be seen in the upcoming series. This superspy has returned to Earth to cope with a major Skrull invasion. But he isn't as confident in himself as he once was. Fury does not feel invincible when he is not wearing the eye patch.
Secret Invasion premieres on Disney+ on June 21.
