Spider-Man: No Way Home might just go down in comic book history as the most theorized superhero film of all time and definitely for good reason. Now, while some rumors and fan theories ended up being true, one moment fans were eager to see didn't happen and that is Ned Leeds' villainous transformation to becoming the Hobgoblin.

The MCU's third Spidey flick seemingly changed the character's direction, revealing that he comes from a family of wizards. Despite the sudden creative change being deemed questionable by many, that hasn't stopped the MCU fandom from speculating about Ned's potential turn to villainy in the future.

Well, it looks like actor Jacob Batalon is also among the folks who are hopeful we would get to see Ned become the Hobgoblin. Taking to his Instagram stories, the actor reshared a photo of him holding a Hobgoblin action figure.

Is Jacob just trying to do some foreshadowing or does he actually know something about Ned's future that we don't know? Check out the post below:

While Ned may not look the part of a believable villain, it's worth noting that Batalon has actually cut down some body weight, most likely as preparation for his next big role in the MCU.

Now, Spidey still has a score to settle with villains like Vulture and Scorpion but the idea of Ned becoming one of his archnemeses isn't exactly out of the window. You see, every universe saw Peter Parker clash with his best friend turned enemy and 616 would be no different.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to make its theatrical return on September 2, 2022.
