For the first time since 1987, He-Man will return to the big screen in the long-awaited live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe. Lead star Nicholas Galitzine will give a first look at his character.
After several years of delay, the film has finally begun production, making fans of the iconic Mattel franchise buzzing with excitement.
Not only that, but Mattel’s official social media account also released the cast members of the film, teasing a great ensemble that will bring the world of Eternia to life again.

Nicholas Galitzine Transforms Into He-Man
After months of preparation, Galitzine finally transforms into He-Man in the first look at his character in Masters of the Universe.
From his royal roles as Prince Henry in Red, White, and Royal Blue and George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham in Mary and George, he will soon be seen as Prince Adam of Eternia.
In a post on his Instagram, the British actor showcases the results of his intense physical training to attain He-Man’s signature physique. The post features his muscular torso while he wields the iconic Power Sword.
“After several months of intense training, I’m thrilled to share that we’re officially in production on #MastersOfTheUniverse,” his caption reads.
Our director Travis Knight has assembled the most incredible ensemble cast and created a stunning tapestry of Eternia and its surrounding world. I can’t wait for you to see. More to come, but until then, here’s a sneak peek at the Sword of Power. By the power of Grayskull!
Galitzine seems to have completely embraced his role, showing his commitment to embodying He-Man. The franchise’s official Instagram says, “Eternia is in good hands.”
The Ensemble Cast of Masters of the Universe
A day before Galitzine gives a glimpse of his new role as He-Man, Mattel, and Masters unveiled the ensemble cast for the film, confirming that it is finally in production.
“By the Power of Grayskull, filming for the new Masters of the Universe movie has officially kicked off!” its post reads. “We are thrilled to introduce our incredible cast, bringing your favorite characters to life and a few new additions along the way.”

All of these characters originated in the classic 1982 cartoon except Suzie and Hussein. However, considering that the new Masters of the Universe will change the origin of He-Man, it appears that these new characters will be introduced.
What is the New Masters of the Universe About?
Masters of the Universe will be different this time as the 10-year-old Prince Adam will find himself on Earth.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he will be separated from his Power Sword and must learn of his past before he becomes the master of the universe.

After numerous setbacks, originally announced in 2007 under Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures, then taken on by Netflix and later canceled in 2023 due to budget constraints, Masters of the Universe is now in development with Amazon Studios. The movie, directed by Travis Knight, will be released in June 2026.
