Marvel's What If...? Series Will Continue Production Despite COVID-19

The Coronavirus has basically stopped every major movie or series in production right now, whether it be The Witcher or The Batman, nothing stands a chance against this epidemic right now. However, animation has somehow survived with Disney managing to release some shorts with Frozen character Olaf and Marvel's long-awaited ‘What If…?' still being in production, even though the virus is still at large.

Stephen Franck, the head of animation for What If…?, told Newsarama that the show is still in production because animators have been able to work at the safety of their home. It's a good move and things seem to be moving at a good pace so here's hoping that other animated shows have the same luck.

"It all happened literally within days. Unfortunately I'm also hearing about some projects in development or with more distant release dates being put on hiatus, but a fair number of people in animation are still at work from the safety of their home, which we are all grateful for."

With most productions taking a big hit due to the Coronavirus, fans are expecting big MCU shows like WandaVision or The Falcon and The Winter Soldier to get delayed. Most of us understand why this is happening but it's good to know that something like ‘What...If?' is still on the way.

Marvel's What If…? is still slated for a Summer 2021 release.
