Marvel Studios Posts Statement Against Racism

It looks like Marvel is also joining the fight against racism.

The past few days, protests against racism and police brutality have been surging across the nation after Minneapolis police unwarrantedly killed an African American man during an arrest.

The "Black Lives Matter" movement has gained a whole lot of traction with many fighting against the violence committed against people of color. Corporate entities like EA Games, Bethesda, and the NFL have decided to take a stand against racism, posting messages of support on social media.

Marvel Studios has also decided to send out a statement in support of the movement.

"We stand against racism. We stand for inclusion. We stand with our fellow Black employees, storytellers, creators, and the entire Black community. We must unite and speak out," Marvel wrote in a tweet.

Aside from the post, stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have also been vocal about their support including Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson and Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan.

Of course, Marvel fans shouldn't be surprised to see Marvel's support for the "Black Lives Matter" movement. Diversity and representation has always been a priority for the MCU.

The "Black Lives Matter" protests have been surging across the country after the death of George Floyd. The African American man was killed by the police during an arrest outside a grocery in Minneapolis. Floyd had been suspected of giving a counterfeit bill, and four policemen immediately came on site. Apprehending Floyd, one of the police officers decided to kneel on his neck. Despite his pleas saying that he couldn't breathe, the police officer continued to force his knee on Floyd's neck until he visibly went limp. Rushed to the hospital, Floyd was declared dead on arrival.

Since his killing, protesters have taken to the streets to fight for the "Black Lives Matter" movement.
