Marvel President On How Far Ahead The Studio Maps Out The MCU

Now that Avengers: Endgame's finally made its premiere, Marvel fans are wondering just when they can expect the studio to announce updates on Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Taking time to address fans concerns on Reddit in a recent Ask Me Anything session, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed just how far in advance the studio maps out plans for the franchise.

"We usually work with a specific 5 year plan at any given point but often have a general plan that extends much, much further," Feige said.

Feige might be keeping mum about the studio's plan for Phase 4 of the MCU, but we do have some idea of what's to come. Marvel is currently working on a few films like its upcoming Black Widow standalone movie, The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Doctor Strange 2. We also know that Marvel plans to make even more strides for diversity and representation, hence the studio's plan to feature the MCU's very first openly gay lead in The Eternals.

Marvel also has a lot of plans outside the MCU. Right now the studio is working on a set of mini-series featuring characters that haven't been able to star in their own standalone films. This includes Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Vision (Paul Bettany), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). All of these shows are set to premiere on Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
