December 16 may just be an ordinary day for some people but fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will always associate it with Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier and the crime he committed on that fateful night of December 16, 1991. The said date was first featured in 2016's Captain America: Civil War as part of Bucky's mission and since then, fans have made it a point to commemorate what a lot of them refer to as "Mission Report Day".

To give you a little refresher, December 16 marked the death of Tony Stark's parents Howard and Maria Stark at the hands of Bucky himself. Of course, it wasn't exactly Steve Rogers' best friend responsible for the murder as he has been brainwashed by HYDRA for years, turning him into a fierce assassin as part of The Winter Soldier program.

It's become an annual thing for Marvel fans to take to social media and talk about the iconic MCU moment and boy, this year is no different. Check out some of the tweets below:

Barnes has come a long way since that gruesome incident happened almost three decades ago and now, he's fighting the forces of evil alongside Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. But with Disney+'s upcoming MCU show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier seeing the return of Baron Zemo aka the last person to use the Hydra code on Bucky, it'll be interesting to see if he's once again out to brainwash the now reformed Winter Soldier. Something tells me that's how things will go down.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is premiering on Disney+ in 2021.
