Marvel Comics Offers Deep Comic Book Store Discounts To Assist Retailers During COVID-19 Outbreak

Forcing customers to self-isolate, the novel coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on the economy. Businesses have been suffering the past few weeks during the COVID-19 quarantine. Aside from the fact that customers have been forced to stay at home, shops and services outside of what's considered "essential businesses" like supermarkets and pharmacies have been forced to suspend their operations to prevent the spread of the disease.

This includes comic book retailers, an industry that is outside what is considered essential. Hoping to alleviate the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown put in place by the government, Marvel has decided to increase comic book discounts to help retailers.

Marvel just recently issued a statement to comic book retailers regarding its plans to assist retailers in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak (via Bleeding Cool), and it looks like the comic book publishing house is going to offer extensive discounts for Marvel titles going on sale between March 18 and April 8.

According to Marvel, the deep discounts will help increase retailers' total discounts upfront, allowing them to preserve the cash that they have immediately available.

"These discounts will also allow your store to fully dedicate your resources and staff to selling comics and other essential tasks," the publication wrote in its statement to its comic book retailers.

This is a generous offer from Marvel. Comic book shops must be suffering in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's great to see Marvel looking out for its sellers in this time of crisis.
