Cobra Kai star Martin Kove is under fire after he was accused of biting his co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim at a fan convention last Sunday.
The veteran actor recently wrapped his run as fan-favorite character Sensei John Kreese in the final season of Cobra Kai, which aired its last batch of episodes earlier this year.
What Happened Between Martin Kove and Alicia Hannah-Kim?
Kove and Hannah-Kim were both present at the Washington State Summer Con last Sunday. According to a police report obtained by Entertainment Weekly, when Hannah-Kim stopped by to say hello to Kove, he allegedly grabbed and bit her arm.
"I walked past Martin Kove, tapped him on the shoulder and said hello & he turned around, grabbed my arm and BIT DOWN HARD, almost drawing blood. I yelped and drew back, and then he grabbed my arm again to kiss it," Hannah-Kim wrote in a handwritten statement to the police.
The actress approached her handler and her husband, Sebastian Roche, and told them about the incident.
She continued, "I had visible teeth marks and immediate bruising and pain. We approached Martin in the green room later (30 mins) and he was furious & outraged and visibly angry when I told him calmly not to bite me. He insisted he bit me for fun."
Kove told the police officer that he was just "messing around." However, the officer reminded him that what he did was illegal.
He eventually "admitted to biting Alicia's arm and said he did it out of jest and he thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai, and he did not think it was a big deal."
Did Alicia Hannah-Kim Press Charges Against Martin Kove?
Hannah-Kim decided not to press charges against Kove. However, she also filed a report, and her injury was documented in case of future incidents.
They have also spoken after the incident, where Kove apologized to the actress.
According to the police officer, he asked Kove if he wanted to provide a voluntary handwritten statement, but "he declined and, shaking my hand, he thanked me (as did his son) and he was escorted out of Summer Con."
So far, neither Kove nor Hannah-Kim has provided any public statement since the incident took place.
