Mariah Carey's response to questions about Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding has quickly gone viral, echoing her iconic "I don't know her" moment. Here's her three-word sentiment on the 50-million-dollar splurged nuptials.
Why was Mariah Carey Not Invited to the Bezos-Sánchez Wedding?
Earlier this week, Paparazzi Videos, a prominent TikTok account, posted a clip of running into Mariah herself, who was walking down the sidewalk.
As the man filming the occurrence asked her about her thoughts on the billionaire Amazon founder's star-studded wedding in Venice, Italy, last month, the All I Want for Christmas is You singer adjusted her sunglasses to reply with her three words on the matter: "I wasn't there."
In what appears to be an attempt to spark controversy, the man followed up with this question, "Were you not invited?" which earned him a playful retort as a form of scolding by Mariah: "Oh, don't turn this into that."
Fans in the comments section likened this nonchalant response to her early 2000s diss towards diva nemesis Jennifer Lopez, in which she went viral for her seemingly shady, four-word response: "I don't know her."
What Flooded Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Wedding with Criticisms?
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez may have officially tied the knot on June 27, 2025, but paparazzi are not over at how extremely shallow the entire event was.
For one thing, as journalist Megyn Kelly pointed out, the star-studded ceremony was only filled with A-list celebrities and influencers rather than close friends; some of the guests on their list included Leonardo DiCaprio, the Kardashians and Jenners, Oprah Winfrey, and even Sydney Sweeney.
Keep in mind that the Madame Web star reportedly admitted she wasn't close to both the bride and groom, but rather attended their wedding as a form of respect once she started working for Amazon's film adaptation of Split Fiction.
The $50 million wedding caused quite a stir, including criticism from former View co-host Meghan McCain, who described the ceremony as "gaudy" and a "waste of money" on her Citizen McCain podcast.
McCain went on to blast that the "egregious display of gratuitous wealth" only puts their wealth on display, especially in recent times, where there is "a lot of anger about [billionaires] not paying their fair share of taxes [and] not giving back the way they should."
