Wizards of the Coast has announced changes to the Magic: The Gathering esports programs in response to the direction from local governemnts for best practices regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus. WotC is suspending the current qualifying period for Players Tour Series 2.

Here are the changes WotC announced for MTG esports:

The changes follow last week's announcement that the Players Tour Finals at Houston and the Mythic Invitational originally scheduled on May had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"Following recommendations from government and health officials, we will continue to make additional changes to qualifying schedules and events," Wizards stated. "We look forward to providing competitive tabletop Magic opportunities while ensuring the safety and health of players worldwide. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as these adjustments are made."
