Lucasfilm Reportedly Developing Lando Spinoff Series With Darth Maul For Disney+

It looks like Ahsoka isn't the only Star Wars fan-favorite making her way to Disney+.

Word on the rumor mill says that Lucasfilm is planning to develop a Landa Calrissian live-action series, and it seems like the project may involve Darth Maul.

According to a report by reviewer Grace Randolph, Lucasfilm is working on two different Lando series for Disney's new streaming site, Disney+. One of the projects is supposedly a spinoff of Solo: A Star Wars Story which features Donald Glover as the suave Star Wars smuggler.

Of course, as a spinoff of Solo, this series is also reportedly going to feature Darth Maul, the head of the Crimson Dawn revealed at the end of the Star Wars spinoff movie. Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) may also appear in the show.

The second spinoff series is also another spinoff, this time of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The project will star original Lando Calrissian, Billy Dee Williams and will feature the adventures of the smuggler as he helps his daughter Jannah (Naomi Ackie) as she tries to find out about her past.

Glover is also apparently in discussions for the series, so this second spinoff may very well incorporate a few flashbacks featuring the Atlanta star.

This is pretty exciting news. Lando has always been a popular character, and fans would certainly want to see more of the smuggler's adventures. The first series would help quench the desire to know more about the Crimson Dawn. The second would be a great follow-up after the sudden revelation about Jannah's parentage in The Rise of Skywalker.

Of course, these reports could be wrong. We'll just have to wait for Lucasfilm to make a confirmation.
