Lucas is no longer a member of NCT and WayV, his agency SM Entertainment said.
After eight years of being a member of the K-pop group NCT and its sub-units, including WayV, Lucas will officially move forward as a soloist following his long hiatus. SM Entertainment confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday.

Lucas Is No Longer NCT, WayV Member
On SM Entertainment's official Twitter page, the company confirmed that Lucas is no longer a member of NCT and WayV. The agency created the statement to shed light on the idol's future activities amid his hiatus following the controversies he got embroiled in.
Part of the statement reads:
"As a result of a serious discussion between Lucas and the agency, it has been decided that Lucas will leave NCT and WayV, and instead pursue solo activities. The decision was reached based on the belief that it was the best option to respect the other members and the fans, and thus, we ask for the understanding of all fans who have supported Lucas as a member of NCT and WayV."

SM Entertainment, however, assured fans that Lucas would still promote but as a soloist. It then expressed its gratitude to the fans who tirelessly offered their attention and support.

The clarification came after rumors about Lucas' comeback emerged. The idol has been sharing black-and-white photos and videos of him at SM Entertainment's dance studio. Fans noticed that the video was taken at the studio on Feb. 1 and Feb. 28.
His status with SuperM remains unknown.
Lucas' Issue Explored
Lucas has been on an indefinite hiatus since his ex-girlfriend accused him of approaching, manipulating, and leeching money off of her when they dated in 2019. At that time, Lucas allegedly told the woman she was his girlfriend and not only a fan.
The alleged victim claimed that Lucas forced her to have sexual intercourse with him even though she was not comfortable doing it. They broke up but got back together in November 2019. They split for good in March 2020.
Lucas has since released an apology statement and decided to take a break from his activities with NCT and his other groups.
