Amidst her theatrical movie comeback in the highly anticipated sequel Freakier Friday, Lindsay Lohan expressed her frustration in being pigeonholed in certain roles and how the new film might break that.

The actress has been experiencing a career resurgence in the last few years, thanks to her starring roles in hit Netflix romantic-comedy films. The new Disney sequel marks her return to a theatrical release project, giving her another opportunity after all these years to showcase her talent on the big screen. Now, she is ready for her next act.

How is Lindsay Lohan Planning to Break the Cycle of Being Pigeonholed?

In an interview with The Times UK, Lohan expressed frustration regarding how she was being pigeonholed in certain roles and prevented from playing sophisticated characters.

"Yeah, I do [think I was pigeonholed]. I was so thrilled to work on A Prairie Home Companion, and yet even today, I have to fight for stuff that is like that, which is frustrating. Because, well, you know me as this — but you also know I can do that," she said.

"So let me! Give me the chance. I have to break that cycle and open doors to something else, leaving people no choice. And in due time, if Martin Scorsese reaches out, I’m not going to say no."

With the release of Freakier Friday, which marks the first time that she is playing a mother on screen, Lohan is hoping that she will have an opportunity to star in a wider range of projects and showcase another side of herself.

"I miss films that are stories, like All About Eve or Breakfast at Tiffany’s. There are not many major movies I want to go and see that are like that — there’s a gap and I’m craving to do work like that," she said.
