Linda Hamilton in Terminator: Dark Fate

Linda Hamilton in Terminator: Dark Fate

Linda Hamilton has been celebrated as one of the best female action stars thanks to her iconic role as Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise and the other tough and resilient characters that she played throughout her career.

This year, she is back in the spotlight as she joined the cast of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things as the antagonist that the main characters will face in its epic conclusion.

You might be in the mood to watch some of Hamilton's best works. Here is our list of her iconic movies and TV shows.

The Terminator

The Terminator follows a cyborg assassin from the future who attempts to find and kill a young woman who is destined to give birth to a warrior who will lead a resistance to save humankind from extinction.

The film marked Hamilton's breakthrough into the Hollywood consciousness and her first appearance as Sarah Connor. While the character is not shaped into an iconic female heroine yet, thanks to Hamilton, she became a relatable character that fans fell in love and one of the reasons why this film became iconic.

Beauty and the Beast

The '80s fantasy drama series, Beauty and the Beast, follows the adventures and romance of a sensitive and cultured lion-man and a crusading assistant district attorney in Manhattan, New York City.

Despite its unusual premise, it was one of the hit TV shows in the late '80s, partly thanks to Hamilton and Ron Perlman's chemistry. They were able to keep the story grounded despite its fantastical tone. Hamilton also received her first (and, so far, only) Emmy nomination in her career.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day follows a cyborg from the future, identical to the one who failed to kill Sarah Connor, who must now protect her ten-year-old son, John, from an even more advanced and powerful cyborg.

The film was the best showcase for Hamilton as an action star, as her character, Sarah Connor, was featured in some of the best badass moments in cinema, and this solidified her iconic status in the pantheon of the action genre. This is arguably Hamilton's best work in her career, so far.

Dante's Peak

Dante's Peak follows a volcanologist who arrives at a countryside town recently named the second-most desirable place to live in America, and discovers that a nearby long-dormant volcano may awaken at any moment.

This is Hamilton's most recognizable work in her post-Terminator career. Not only was it a box office success at the time of its release, but it was also part of a major trend in Hollywood around that time where disaster movies were popular. This has become a staple of iconic Hollywood volcano movies.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate follows an augmented human and Sarah Connor who must stop an advanced liquid Terminator from hunting down a young girl, whose fate is critical to the human race.

After almost three decades, Hamilton reprised the role of Sarah Connor once again. While she has aged since the second film's release, she was still a badass action star, and it never felt like time had passed. While the film was not a major box office success, it is still worth watching just to see Hamilton play Sarah Connor again in the modern day.
