As news of former One Direction member Liam Payne's death emerged, some fans are convinced that the pop star may have foreshadowed his own passing. Now, a recent interview with his ex-fiancée Maya Henry suggests that the 31-year-old "predicted his own death."
Liam Spent His Final Days Watching Former One Direction Bandmate Perform in Argentina
Liam Payne died on Wednesday, October 16, after falling from the third floor of Buenos Aires' CasaSur Palermo Hotel, as confirmed by PEOPLE magazine.
Payne shared updates to his fans during his vacation in Argentina, as he was not only there for a getaway trip, but also attended the concert of his former One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan.
On October 2, Payne attended Horan's The Show: Live on Tour at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.
At the time, the 31-year-old was spotted cheering for Horan's performance while posing for fellow concertgoers, according to Pop Crave.
Payne even announced on his Snapchat that he "might go and say hello" as he and Niall have "got a lot to talk about." While the ex-bandmates manage to get together post-concert, the tragedy unfolds days later.
Maya Henry Claims the Former One Direction Member Foreshadowed His Death
Payne's ex-fiancée Maya Henry recently claimed on Entertainment Tonight's The Internet is Dead podcast that he "predicted his early death".
"'Cause he would always message me ever since we broke up, and say, 'Oh I'm not well' and he would always play with death and be like, 'Well, I'm gonna die' 'I'm not doing well'," Maya explained.
"I know the lifestyle that he lives and there is a day where something bad is going to happen so I would always be like, 'Okay, he's saying these things, I have to help him because if I don't, I will never be able to live with myself.'"
The interview occurred two days before the One Direction star's shocking passing.
It doesn't help fans that on January 13, 2014, HITZ reported that Liam Payne was seen "hanging out dangerously close to the edge of a roof."
According to the news source, the One Direction star was "said to be rather drunk after partying for hours at Zayn Malik's birthday bash in London."
The said post would resurface just hours after the news broke, which led many to believe that Payne may have foreshadowed the horrific tragedy.
