A new toxicology report revealed that the late singer Liam Payne had an alarming blood alcohol level at the time of his death.

The One Direction member tragically passed away at the age of 31 last October after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Initial findings in the investigation revealed that there were alcohol and drugs found in his system when he died.

In a new toxicology report released by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office, it was revealed that Payne had a blood alcohol level (BAC) of .27 percent at the time of his death.

For reference, the United States' legal driving limit is .08 percent. Payne's high blood alcohol level would be classified as "severe intoxication," according to Stanford University’s Vaden Health Services, which can cause people to experience mental confusion and nausea.

The new report was a follow-up on the initial toxicology report that was released weeks after his death which revealed that alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant were found in his system.

The officials have also concluded in their investigation that Payne was likely not fully conscious at the time of his death and they found no signs of self-defense.

Five people were charged in connection with his death. Two of them were allegedly supplying the late singer with narcotics while three people were charged for criminal negligence. The Argentinian court eventually dropped the charges for the three.

The Future of Netflix's Building the Band After Liam Payne's Death

Before his tragic passing, Payne was working on the Netflix reality competition series Building the Band as one of the judges alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland. AJ McLean serves as the host.

Last month, reports confirmed that Netflix is still moving forward with Building the Band after halting the production when Payne passed away.

They are also in conversation with Payne's family on how the late singer's role will be handled as the series is currently being edited.

There is no release window set yet for Building the Band as Netflix charters its future and how Payne's death will be addressed once it finally airs in the future.
