Shōgun's latest episode shows a series of deaths throughout the episode. While Toranaga is mourning the death of his son, another shocking death transpired in the episode with Lady Iyo suffering a stroke in Shōgun episode 8.
On her deathbed, Lady Iyo makes her final wish to Lady Ochiba. What was it and did Lady Ochiba follow through?

What Happened During Lady Iyo's Stroke in Shōgun?
In Shōgun episode 8, Lady Daiyoin (played by Ako) suddenly experiences a stroke. As she lay on her deathbed, Lady Ochiba (played by Fumi Nikaido) hurries by her side.
When she arrives, Lady Iyo tells her:
"You must stop these games. Promise to release the hostages and stop these games that are destabilizing the nation."
As Lady Iyo's stroke in Shōgun happens, she takes her final breath and dies. Lady Ochiba then shows her grief after the woman's fate.
It is revealed that although the two women have differences, they do not hate each other. Lady Ochiba certainly doesn't hate Lady Iyo. After all, she has played a vital role in where she is today.

Did Lady Ochiba Follow Lady Iyo's Final Wish?
On her deathbed, Lady Iyo asks Lady Ochiba to not ally with Ishido (played by Takehiro Hira).
But it looks like Lady Ochiba is determined to continue with her plans. Even as her one-time advisor and tormentor lay dying, she cannot get past her plans to take revenge against Lord Toranaga (played by Hiroyuki Sanada).
After Daiyoin's death, Lady Ochiba makes her way to Ishido and bows to him. This indicates that she has accepted his marriage proposal and ultimately defied the final wish of Daiyoin.

Why Does Lady Ochiba Hate Lord Toranaga?
Lord Toranaga has a lot of enemies. Lady Ochiba is one of them.
Although it was never revealed why the consort dislikes Toranaga and is intent on taking revenge on him, there are speculations that she blames him for the death of her father.
Another reason why she hates Toranaga is because he is the strongest regent, which poses a threat to her as the mother of the heir.
