Multi-awarded Korean actress Jun Ji-hyun (Gianna Jun) will be leading Kingdom: Ashin of the North. Jun Ji-hyun was well known for her main roles in the Korean drama My Love from the Star and the Korean movie My Sassy Girl. This will be her much-anticipated return to the small screen after five years with Legend of the Blue Sea.
Aside from Jun Ji-hyun, actor Park Byung-eun will return as Min Chi-rok, a member of the Royal Commandery who comes across the young Ashin in the freezing cold in the northern region. Kim Si-a will play the young Ashin while actors Kim Roi-ha and Koo Kyo-hwan will also be in the episode.
