Kill Heel acted like its three main characters by showing a strong desire to achieve success.

Three of the recent stunners in Korean dramas were tapped to lead Kill Heel. As early as November 2021, the drama reportedly selected the stars who could potentially play the lead roles.

18 Again star Kim Ha Neul was the first star to be considered to appear in the show, followed by Lawless Lawyer actress Lee Hye Young. Meanwhile, Park Eun Seok received the first offer to play Seo Jun Beom’s role, but the character eventually went to Jung Eui Jae.

Kill Heel still faced a struggle after completing its cast members after the COVID-19 pandemic caused the original date to be postponed. But soon after starting its stint on March 9, the Korean drama immediately showed a strong impression on its viewers and contenders.

Nielsen Korea reported that the first episode of Kill Heel took first place in its time slot after viewers contributed a huge percentage to its nationwide rating of 4.4 percent. Its peak, meanwhile, landed at 5.4 percent.

It also managed to become No. 1 as both its strong contenders, Thirty-Nine and Sponsor, did not air its episode due to the scheduled South Korean presidential election.

Kill Heel Achieved Feat Despite Postponement of Premiere

The recent milestone put Kill Heel under the spotlight as the drama could have had a different fate if it aired during its original schedule.

For what it’s worth, the drama delayed its premiere after a confirmed COVID-19 case was detected on its set.

“We have decided to delay the broadcast in order to create a safe production environment, so we ask for the understanding of all the viewers who were looking forward to ‘Kill Heel.’ We will work harder to do our best in managing safety concerns and following the guidelines of the public health authorities,” an insider said at that time.

Kill Heel will continue to release a new episode every Wednesday and Thursday.
