We're now in the 14th year of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the franchise is now bigger than ever as they are releasing a lot of films and TV shows in the same calendar year. Some fans have been wondering about how long will the franchise actually last. Now, it looks like we have an update regarding its exciting future.
Per Collider, when Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige went on stage at Disney's CinemaCon presentation to present the first 20 minutes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he revealed that he will be heading to a Marvel Studios retreat right after his appearance to plan the next 10 years of the MCU. However, he didn't provide more specific details regarding it.
Even though Feige was vague, it is still a piece of interesting information nonetheless as it just shows that they are committed to the franchise for the next 10 years and they are carefully planning out its future without any impulsive decisions. It is also an assurance that we will be getting more MCU content in both theatrical and streaming for at least another decade.
It is hard to speculate right now regarding what kind of future is Marvel Studio planning for the next 10 years. We do know that they are planning to integrate the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and other iconic characters that are yet to be introduced to the MCU in the near future, and perhaps they are figuring out how they will address the many characters that are going to occupy the franchise in the future especially if they will team-up in a movie.
So far, we only know their slate in the next two to three years as they have announced projects such as Blade, Fantastic Four, Deadpool 3, Captain America 4, Nova, Armor Wars, and many more that are part of their Phase Four or Phase Five line-up. We should be hearing more official updates regarding the future of the MCU in the near future when Feige does another presentation whether it's at Comic-Con or the D23 event.
