Keke Palmer has finally explained why she decided to pull her interview with Jonathan Majors on her podcast.

Last March, it was initially announced that Palmer would have the controversial actor as a guest on her podcast. However, it received backlash from her fans, urging her to cancel the episode. Ultimately, Palmer seemingly relented as the interview was never aired.

In a recent interview on 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club (via People), Palmer opened up about her decision not to air her interview with Majors on her podcast.

"When I'm doing my hosting, I'm here to be unbiased. Everybody that sits in your chair, you don't agree with everything they did, you don't love everything, but you gotta have the conversation," she explained her process.

"You have to set the stage for them to speak and for people to watch and take what they wanna take from it, so that's why I was open and excited to do the interview."

After hearing the feedback from fans, Palmer and her producers decided that airing the interview would be inappropriate.

"But ultimately, with my partners, it was just decided — they saw the reaction, that people felt it was insensitive, that maybe we shouldn't put it out," she continued.

"It's always there, if people wanted to see it. But I always wanna be respectful and understand where everybody's coming from. If they're not going to feel like they're going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool. But I sat down with the brother for us to talk and let him be heard."

Is Keke Palmer Friends with Jonathan Majors?

Palmer also addressed her connection with Majors and revealed that she is friends with his wife, Meagan Good.

"Meagan's my girl. I've grown up loving her; she's honestly a mentor to me, and representation for all of us young Black women," she said.

"I mean, I was happy for her to get married. I was excited to have the conversation [with Jonathan]."

Palmer said of Majors and Good's new life as a married couple, "I wish them all the best."

"I really wanna say that because I don't judge nobody 'cause I don't want to be judged. At the end of the day, I'm happy for Meagan. I'm happy for them. Maybe one day we get a chance to put [the interview] out," she added.
