The Duke of Sussex made some attacks against the Prince and Princess of Wales in his book. However, according to Showbiz CheatSheet, Lucy Middleton is involved in Prince Harry's memoir.

Lucy is an attorney, and based on her LinkedIn profile, she was a former litigator specializing in defamation, privacy, confidence and data protection. She is also head of Penguin Random House's legal department. Penguin Random House is the publisher of Prince Harry's Spare.

Did Lucy Betray Kate Middleton?

Due to Lucy's involvement in Prince Harry's book, which had several attacks against the royals, many accused her of betraying the Duchess of Cambridge. Marca ran a headline that read, "Kate's cousin betrayed the crown through Harry's book."

However, some also suggested that she may have given the royal family a heads-up about the content of the publication. Considering her position in the publishing house, she, herself, had to supervise and go through the content to ensure that there wouldn't be any legal issues for the publisher.

There are speculations that she may have alerted the Princess of Wales about the content even before excerpts of the book leaked.

Who Is Lucy Middleton?

Lucy Middleton is the daughter of Richard Middleton, the brother of Kate Middleton's dad Michael Middleton. Lucy and the future queen consort have been close over the years.

They even lived together in Italy for a few months when they studied at the British Institute of Florence. The cousins rented a $650-a-month student apartment.

After a gap year in 2001, Middleton headed to St. Andrew's University in Scotland. Lucy returned to England and studied French and Italian at the University of Bristol before graduating from BPP Law School in London in 2004.

Prince William and Middleton also chose Lucy as one of their youngest son Prince Louis' godparents. Along with Lucy, the Prince and Princess of Wales chose their close friends Guy Pelly, Lady Laura Meade, Nicholas van Cutsem, Harry Aubrey Fletcher and Hannah Carter as Prince Louis' second parents.
