Kate Middleton has been a driving force behind her husband, Prince William. In fact, even before they tied the knot, the Duchess of Cambridge already supported the Duke of Cambridge with every single thing that he did. And throughout their marriage, Middleton has also reportedly contributed a lot to Prince William’s relationships with the royal family.
Kate Middleton Helped Prince Charles, Prince William Forge A Closer Bond
According to royal commentator Richard Kay, Kate Middleton helped strengthen Prince Charles and Prince William’s relationship over the years.
“[William's] relationship with his father has not always been good. There's been a lot of friction between them over the years. They seem to have a better understanding of one another [at present]. I put a lot of all this down to the influence of Kate and the Middleton family and how they've, sort of, given him some new priorities in his life,” he said (via Express).
Kay added that Prince William is slowly becoming a more significant figure within the royal family. And he has also been stepping out of his shell with the help of his wife.
“He's slightly stepping out, if you like, of that long shadow caged by his father [Charles]. He’s intent on having his own views,” he said.

Queen Elizabeth Adores Kate Middleton
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Middleton has been praised for helping Prince William in whatever way she can. While speaking with OK! Magazine, royal biographer Andrew Morton revealed that Queen Elizabeth was also very impressed with the Duchess of Cambridge.
“The thing about Kate is the Queen was impressed she adored and loved William for himself, not for his title. She spends a lot more time supporting and nurturing the relationship between William and Catherine than she did with Charles and Diana. It's pretty clear she wasn't going to make that mistake again,” Morton said.
The author of Diana: Her True Story – In Her Own Words added that everything that happened in Prince William and Middleton’s relationship was quite strategic but unexpected.
“In the beginning, nobody in the royal household expected for a second that the university romance with Catherine and William would continue for any time after they graduated, like most college romances which disintegrate under the intense scrutiny of jobs and geography,” he said.
Queen Elizabeth Was Thrilled That Prince William Married Kate Middleton
After several years of dating, Prince William and Middleton finally tied the knot in 2011. And Morton said that the Queen was very happy to see the couple finally settling down.
“The Queen was positively playful on the day of her grandson’s nuptials, ‘practically skipping’ according to one observer, absolutely thrilled at the way the public had reacted to the royal newlyweds. She had a sense that the future of the Royal Family, her family, was now secure. The monarchy was once again held in admiration and affection by the masses,” he said.
As of writing, Middleton continues to impress the royal family and the public with her contributions to The Firm. But on top of her professionalism, she’s also lauded for her love and affection towards Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
