Kate Middleton and Prince William are moving to Windsor. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's move could be a response to Prince Harry's previous interview, according to royal expert Neil Sean.
Kate Middleton And Prince William Respond To Prince Harry By Making Windsor Move?
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are moving to Windsor, where they will be living closer to Queen Elizabeth. However, the royal couple is still keeping their home in Kensington Palace.
Royal expert Neil Sean believed that the move was Prince William and Kate Middleton's response to a statement Prince Harry made about the Queen.
"The final decision for Prince William and Kate to make that tricky move out from Kensington Palace into Windsor Castle was sweetened up by the media," Sean said on his YouTube channel, per Express.
"But more importantly the message is basically Harry and Meghan wanted to make sure that the Queen had the right people around her so William and Kate moving directly into Windsor Castle was a direct message to say, 'we are the right people.'"
The royal correspondent believed that the move would be beneficial to the Queen and the senior royals. According to him, Middleton and Her Majesty "are very close," and they "speak almost daily on the phone."
"She holds her in very high regard," Sean added.
What Did Prince Harry Say That Could Have Prompted Kate Middleton And Prince William's Windsor Move?
In April, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, he had an interview with NBC's Today Show host Hoda Kotb.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise visit to the Queen by dropping by London before they proceeded to the Netherlands. They didn't meet the Cambridges, who was on a ski trip at the time.
Prince Harry talked about the visit, and his statement raised some eyebrows.
"She’s always got a great sense of humour with me and I’m just making sure that she’s protected and got the right people around her," Prince Harry said while talking about his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, The Guardian reported.
He also noted how close the 96-year-old British monarch was to him. According to Meghan Markle's husband, they have a "really special relationship," and "we talk about things that she can’t talk about with anybody else."
Many didn't take Prince Harry's words about making sure the Queen was surrounded by the right people well because she was with Prince Charles and Prince William around. Royal biographer Angela Levin said the Duke of Sussex's statement was an insult to his father and brother.
"Harry's comment on US TV about him checking the Queen is protected is a gross insult to Prince Charles and William. He's underlined even more that he doesn't deserve to attend the Jubilee celebrations and be on the Balcony," Prince Harry's royal biographer Angela Levin wrote on Twitter.
"Well, actually she needs protecting from you, Harry," Tina Brown, the Vanity Fair editor and royal author, said on BBC Radio 4's Today program, Mirror reported.
