Kanye West’s latest track features Sean “Diddy” Combs and his daughter, North West. Reportedly, his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, strongly opposed the collaboration.
This surprising team-up led to a dispute between the two, with West sharing their conflict through texts on X (formerly Twitter), though he has since deleted them.
Kanye's New Collaboration with Diddy, King Combs, and North West Triggers a Clash with Kim Kardashian
Kanye West released a new song on Saturday featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs and his son, Christian “King” Combs. The rapper’s daughter, North West, also contributed to the track, much to Kim Kardashian’s dismay.
Prior to the song’s launch, Kardashian took legal action that nearly prevented its release, according to a source from TMZ.
The song, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine,” begins with the disgraced producer thanking West for looking after him and his kids while incarcerated for alleged federal crimes.
Diddy’s son delivered his own verse in the song. Meanwhile, West’s 11-year-old daughter contributed a memorable line: “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
Sources say that North’s vocals were recorded during a visit to her father after weeks of separation. When Kim heard about the song featuring Diddy, she demanded a cease and desist order and an emergency hearing to prevent her ex-husband from debuting the track.
However, Ye did not attend the hearing and insisted on releasing the track, per the sources. He posted the song on X, but it was deleted the following day.
Diddy, who was arrested on September 16 for multiple charges, including sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering, has faced additional allegations from alleged victims. However, a few, including West, have shown support for him.
The “Gold Digger” artist also mentioned at the beginning of the song that Diddy “raised” him, implying that the track was dedicated to him.
Kanye West's Now-Deleted Tweet Shows Him Threatening to 'Go to War' with Kim Kardashian
West shared a post on X of his and Kardashian’s heated conversation before releasing the song, “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine” on the platform.
Captioned “The first screen grab shows that I’m not playing,” the conversation starts with him saying to his wife of six years: “I’m never speaking with you again.”
The reality TV star responded with, “I asked u at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her.”
Kardashian informed the Vultures 2 producer that she sent legal letters to remove their daughter from the song in order to “protect her.” She then continued, “We agreed when they were born I would get all of our kids' names and trademarks so no one else would take them.”
However, this did not sit well with West, who asked Kardashian to amend it or face “war,” promising that both of them would never recover from the controversies that would follow. “You’re going to have to kill me,” he added.
The post has now been deleted. As of the moment, Kardashian has not yet publicly responded to the issue.
