What Is the Shibuya Incident in Jujutsu Kaisen?
The Shibuya Incident arc constitutes the sixth storyline in the series, chronicling the events of the Shibuya Incident that happened on October 31, 2018.
This arc delves into the orchestrated alliance between cursed spirits and cursed users, formed by Pseudo-Geto and Mahito, as they enact their long-awaited plan to seal Satoru Gojo.
Who Are the Villains in the Shibuya Incident Arc?
The villains in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya Incident arc are interesting but sinister to the core.
These bad guys are ready to play dirty against the jujutsu sorcerers and will do anything to accomplish their goal of sealing Gojo.
Suguru Geto/Pseudo-Geto
The primary architect behind the Shibuya Incident is Geto as he spearheads the cursed spirits and cursed users for his mission.
He knows how important this mission is as he has been plotting to eradicate non-sorcerers for years.
His hate for non-sorcerers knows no bounds, as he fondly calls them "monkeys".
Geto is known to be quite condescending towards humans and doesn’t hesitate before killing them.
As Gojo’s close friend in the Hidden Inventory arc, Geto knows everything about the sorcerer. What's terrifying is that he can use his knowledge about Gojo against him.
Mahito
Easily one of the craziest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya Incident arc, Mahito is a special-grade cursed spirit working closely with Pseudo-Geto.
He also heads his own faction comprised of Jogo, Dagon, and Hanami. Their main objective is the complete annihilation of humanity, with the ultimate aim of replacing the human population with cursed spirits.
Just before the Shibuya Incident starts, Mahito has already dealt with Mechamaru in a deadly battle.
In his fight against Mechamaru, Mahito proved he is a force to be reckoned with.
Mahito’s Domain Expansion, Self-Embodiment of Perfection, helps him create a realm where he is connected with the souls of anyone stuck inside.
Using this Domain Expansion, Mahito possesses the ability to transfigure them as he pleases.
Jogo
Jogo is characterized by his pride as a cursed spirit. He is intelligent and is ready to sacrifice himself to fulfill his long-term goals. He is also ill-tempered and extremely arrogant.
Putting aside his temper, Jogo is a smart and powerful villain who, in the past, showed no hesitation when confronting Gojo.
Jogo mostly uses lava in various forms against his enemies. He uses innate techniques like Ember Insects, Disaster Flames, and Maximum: Meteor in a battle.
He has also excelled in his Domain Expansion called Coffin of the Iron Mountain.
Choso
Choso is one of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings and is the older brother of Eso and Kechizu.
He possesses extraordinary power and surpasses even the formidable standards of cursed spirits.
He uses his inherited techniques namely, Blood Manipulation, Slicing Exorcism, Piercing Blood, Blood Edge, Supernova, Flowing Red Scale: Stack, and many more.
Choso is a powerful opponent, and the sorcerers must remain vigilant because he is determined to exact revenge for the loss of his brothers.
Dagon
A special grade cursed spirit, Dagon is associated with Mahito, Hanami, and Jogo.
He emerged from the fear surrounding water-related calamities, initially existing as a cursed womb until transforming in the Shibuya Incident.
In his fully evolved form, Dagon becomes extremely powerful and dangerous.
He can use his vast amount of cursed energy to generate Disaster Tides and drown his adversaries.
Dagon's Domain Expansion called Horizon of the Captivating Skandha is a dangerous tropical paradise.
Hanami
A special-grade cursed spirit, Hanami is aligned with Mahito, Jogo, and Dagon.
He was first seen in action in the Tokyo and Kyoto Exchange Event in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and proved that he should not be taken lightly by the sorcerers.
Hanami can cast his Domain Expansion called Ceremonial Sea of Light.
Sukuna
Sukuna, also known as the King of Curses, has unparalleled power. He has a copious amount of cursed energy and complete control over it.
What's more, Sukuna’s Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine is a marvelous spectacle that's terrifying for anyone stuck inside it.
Sukuna will play an important role in the Shibuya Incident arc.
