Hakari proceeds to talk about how he loves the fever of gambling. To him, gambling is life. He wants to control the country via the fight club, while he has the opportunity to do so because of the recent happenings. He asks Itadori if he wants to join.
Their conversation is interrupted by Hakari's phone ringing. Hakari offers Itadori a drink. He accepts, as long as it isn't alcohol—considering he's underage. Hakari says Gojo doesn't drink either, but Itadori pretends he doesn't know him. Hakari becomes suspicious because every sorcerer would know who Gojo is. He suspects Yūji is a spy from Jujutsu High.
Hakari attacks with his cursed technique, which resembles train doors. Yūji tries to get him to listen to him by headbutting him. Meanwhile, Megumi is also in the process of convincing Kirara that they're not entirely siding with Jujutsu High. Kirara responds by saying it's the school's fault they were excluded in the first place. Fushiguro asks what happened, and Panda explains that the higher-ups have specific standards about cursed techniques.
Panda uses Nobara's cursed technique as an example, which is simple to understand. However, the development of modern technology alongside jujutsu is something the higher-ups don't really like. Kirara says that Gojo is with the school, so it's weird that Fushiguro and Panda are asking for help. Megumi says that Gojo has been sealed, which Kirara doesn't believe. He proceeds to release his rabbit shikigami, determined to convince Kirara to help.

Chapter 156 focuses on the battle between Megumi, Panda, and Kirara. The two end up figuring out Kirara's cursed technique called Interstellar Flight, which is also explained further in the chapter. Kirara can mark anything from one until five. To attract or repel these marked items, Kirara must touch them according to numerical order. If they are marked with the same number, the attraction works like a magnet.
In the end, the two defeat Kirara. Megumi asks Panda about his rabbit shikigami's effectiveness. Panda says they're cute, but he's certainly cuter.
