A recent report has claimed that Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele recently met with Marvel Studios for a potential involvement in an upcoming project.
Peele has become one of the most celebrated filmmakers for the past several years thanks to his acclaimed works such as Get Out and Nope and the various film and TV projects that he produced such as this year's Monkey Man.
Some fans have been wondering whether Peele will eventually get involved in a major franchise and now it looks like we might see him helm an MCU project soon.
Jordan Peele Reportedly Had a Meeting with Marvel Studios
Veteran journalist Jeff Sneider revealed in his recent newsletter that Peele recently had a meeting with Marvel Studios to potentially direct one of the upcoming MCU films.
While it's not an indication yet that the Oscar winner is officially joining the MCU, Sneider has speculated that he might be ready for the "lucrative world of IP filmmaking."
So far, Marvel Studios has not commented on the claims that were made in the report.
Since Peele started his filmmaking career, he has stated that he's only interested in doing original films and has no intention of joining a major franchise.
With this report, it looks like he might be changing his mind now and is probably open to the idea of putting his creative spin on a beloved IP such as the MCU despite his past stance.
If Peele ends up joining the MCU, it could be an exciting proposition for many fans and it could be an indication that Marvel Studios is ready to embrace more strokes in their slate beyond the typical superhero action fare, assuming that Peele will be helming a horror-esque project.
It should be noted that it was only just a general meeting and there's still a huge possibility that Peele won't be joining the MCU at all to remain focused on his original projects.
For now, let's wait and see whether Peele's recent meeting with Marvel Studios will end up with an official deal soon or it won't lead to anything beyond the report.
