Jonathan Majors Reveals How Kang The Conqueror is Different From Loki's He Who Remains

There is little doubt that Jonathan Majors' surprise appearance in Loki was an exciting one for fans who are eager to see Kang the Conqueror in action. However, it has been revealed that He Who Remains is actually a variant of Kang and isn't the same character who will appear in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

But just how different is He Who Remains from Kang? Majors has explained how his Loki character will differ from the Quantumania villain.

Loki director Kate Herron has previously confirmed that He Who Remains is actually a Variant of Kang the Conqueror. Since the Variant was killed by Sylvie in the Season 1 finale, this means that Quantumania will feature a different Variant.

But just how different are the Variants from each other? Majors revealed during the Loki episode of Assembled that he fashioned his next versions of Kang after He Who Remains.

"I think with He Who Remains, the objective for me was to give me the largest canvas possible. From that, as Kang begins to rear his head and do his deeds, in many ways, he has no choice but to be in opposition or be different from He Who Remains," Majors said. "That was the thing that grabbed me and pulled me into the role. Kang lives in so many iterations as He Who Remains says: 'Reincarnation, baby.'"

It certainly exciting knowing that we'll be seeing more Variants of Kang the Conqueror in the future. At this point, fans are convinced that Majors will be popping up in just about every MCU project that is coming up in the next months. However, it is important to point out that this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

All episodes of Loki Season 1 are now streaming on Disney+ and Majors appears in the season finale. He will return as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which is scheduled to premiere on February 17, 2023.
