On Saturday, March 25, Majors was arrested and charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment after being involved in a domestic dispute with who turned out to be his own girlfriend. The Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star was later released without bail and has insisted on his innocence.

Now, a couple of days after the shocking incident, Majors has released an official statement courtesy of his criminal defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry. The said statement, which was shared with The Direct reads: "Mr. Majors completely denies assaulting the woman. Around 11 a.m. on March 25, 2023, Jonathan Majors called 911 out of concern for the woman’s mental health."

Chaudhry claims that Majors was only placed under police custody as part of an NYPD protocol that required arrest under "certain circumstances." She also presented the text messages Majors' girlfriend sent to him, admitting that she used "physical force" against the MCU star.

"The police arrived with the paramedics, as is standard procedure, and arrested Mr. Majors due to an NYPD protocol requiring arrest in certain circumstances. On that same day, only 7 and 9 hours later, the woman sent text messages to Mr. Majors admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him."

Chaudhry later revealed that the yet-to-be-named woman has "disavowed" her initial allegations. "She also disavowed any allegations that he had done anything to her and confirmed that Mr. Majors called 911 because of her mental condition. These are those messages, redacting the woman’s name for her privacy."
