Jonah Platt, the son of Snow White producer Marc Platt, slammed Rachel Zegler as he blamed her for the film's box office performance in a now-deleted Instagram comment.
With the live-action remake underperforming at the box office, there has been a lot of blame game happening with the controversies surrounding the stars being pointed to as a potential reason why the film flopped.
Jonah Platt Calls Rachel Zegler 'Immature' in Now-Deleted Instagram Comment
In a now-deleted Instagram comment, Jonah Platt blamed Zegler as the reason behind why Snow White flopped at the box office.
This came up after it was reported that his father, Marc, flew to New York to convince Zegler to delete her X post showing her support for Palestine.
The actress chose to stand her ground and not delete the post.
"Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for," Platt wrote in his comment.
"This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office."
The producer's son continued, "Free speech does not meant you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions."
"Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful. Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged."
However, Platt has deleted the comment after it became viral. Zegler has also not responded to his remarks about her.
Disney Reportedly Attempted to Restrain Rachel Zegler Through Social Media Guru
A recent report from Variety revealed how Disney attempted to restrain Rachel Zegler's social media activities in the months leading up to the release of Snow White.
Aside from her pro-Palestine post that alerted Disney executives, there were also concerns regarding her posts on the US presidential election, where she slammed Donald Trump and his supporters.
Disney was alarmed once again as the post could alienate half of the potential audience in the country.
As a result, they paid for a social media guru to work with Zegler and vet her social media posts before the film's release.
The report also claimed that Zegler and Gadot got along during the shooting of the movie, and things only went awkward during the run-up to the release.
