John Boyega’s Agent Announces Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer Coming Out Next Week

Star Wars fans have been waiting for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's first full trailer for months on end. Now, it looks like the trailer may see release next week.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, John Boyega's agent Femi Oguns revealed that Episode IX's very first full trailer has been confirmed for release on Monday next week. The announcement came together with one of the movie's banner together with ESPN's Monday Night Football logo on it.

Check it out down here:

This is pretty big news. Earlier this week, we got wind that the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker would drop on October 21. This time, it seems like the report says that we're getting the trailer a week earlier than anticipated.

Fans have long since been expecting the trailer to release, hoping for the video to drop earlier this year during San Diego Comic-Con and Disney's D23 Convention. However, fans soon realized that Disney would most likely follow the same marketing timeline as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Both films' first full trailers were released in October during one ESPN's big Monday Night Football matches.

The Force Awaken's first full trailer was released on October 20, 2015, while The Last Jedi's first full trailer came out on October 10, 2017.

Given these dates, we wouldn't be surprised if the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker came out either next Monday or next, next Monday – though we do have to say it's rather strange that Femi Oguns is making Star Wars trailer announcements on his own. Let's cross our fingers and wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
